The Apprentice, Donald Trump’s 2000s-era reality competition TV show, is set to makes it streaming debut on Amazon’s Prime Video beginning this week.

The first season of The Apprentice will debut on Monday, March 10th, with six additional seasons dropping even Monday through April 27th.

The Apprentice premiered in 2004 and originally ran for seven seasons, featuring a group of contestants vying for a job at one of Trump’s properties. Beginning in season eight, the show was rebranded as The Celebrity Apprentice. Following Trump’s initial run for president in 2015, the show was canceled by NBC following his remarks disparaging Mexican immigrants.

Former producers and contestants of The Apprentice have alleged that during production of the show, Trump routinely using racist and misogynistic language. However, attempts to release behinds-the-scenes  footage of The Apprentice — including by former Celebrity Apprentice contestant Tom Arnold — have thus far proved fruitless.

In 2021, Amazon obtained the rights to The Apprentice as part of its acquisition of MGM. It’s decision to bring the show to streaming on Prime Video is the second notable transaction between Amazon and the Trump family in recent months, following news that a Melania Trump documentary will premiere on Prime Video later this year.

The Apprentice is one of the best shows that I ever produced,” said producer Mark Burnett in a statement. “The charismatic onscreen presence of President Donald J. Trump made it a bona fide hit! Now, thanks to Prime Video, a whole new audience will experience a new season every Monday. This show is a love letter to New York City! Survivor grew an entirely new massive audience as result of old seasons being binged during the pandemic. On Monday, March 10, this same phenomenon will begin again…with The Apprentice.”

“I look forward to watching this show myself — such great memories, and so much fun, but most importantly, it was a learning experience for all of us!” added Trump in his own statement.
