We offer our sincere thanks to the emergency responders for their swift and dedicated work.
For those attending The Great Escape 2026, we wish to assure you that Brighton Beach is a large public area, and the section of beach occupied by The Great Escape Festival site has not been affected by the incident.
Following guidance from the relevant authorities, festival operations and scheduled performances will continue as planned.
Per the Independent, emergency coastguard services responded to welfare calls regarding three women, each about 20 to 30 years old, at about 5:45 local time Wednesday morning. The women were reportedly seen at the Palace Pier amusement park before drifting into the harbor. Police say they've completed their search and are now in the process of identifying the women and contacting next of kin.
Meanwhile, the Great Escape will continue through Saturday, with Peaches and Kingfishr headlining.
