The Mars Volta have announced a return to Mexico City for a headlining show at the Pepsi Center on November 29th, one day after their appearance at Tecate Comuna in Puebla. Tickets go on presale September 1st, followed by a general sale on September 2nd. The Mexico City date also builds on guitarist Omar Rodríguez-López’s longstanding connection to the country. “For me, Mexico is my special place, my magic,” he told Time Out México ahead of The Mars Volta’s 2022 appearance at Festival Hipnosis. Find The Mars Volta Tickets Here Rodríguez-López, who is Puerto Rican, said he was partly raised in Mexico and considers himself “adopted” by the country. He also recalled the band’s early shows at Mexico City’s Circo Volador as “super magical,” saying they connected strongly with the audience during a difficult tour. “The Mexican audience is one of the best, if not the best in the entire world,” he added, ranking Mexico ahead of Japan and Russia. The November 29th concert will mark The Mars Volta’s return to the Pepsi Center, where they previously performed in 2023.
