After a trio of albums with a different vocalist, early-era mouth Ezra Haynes is back in front of these technical melody makers. In his time away the band introduced some clean vocals and extra melodic moments, and all those still remain. The pairing of Ezra and the elements they developed in his absence are so strong together. They've never released a bad album, but this is their best in some time.

Fractal Universe – The Great Filters

Taking us home with an album of the year contender. Tómarúm's second album is a release unlike much else. It feels like both modern and class black metal while experimenting beyond the traditional scope of either.
