The best-selling video game of 2025 so far has been revealed, and it’s bad news for Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7.
According to consumer data company Circana, the best-selling game of 2025 in the United States is currently Battlefield 6, which launched in October. Battlefield 6 has also had the highest single month sales of any video game in the past three years, breaking a record set by 2022’s Call Of Duty: Modern Warfare 2. EA revealed that Battlefield 6 sold more than 7 million copies over launch weekend.
According to Circana, which has included all physical and digital sales between January 1 and November 1 2025, NBA 2K26 is the second best-selling game with Monster Hunter: Wilds, Borderlands 4 and EA Sports College Football 26 rounding out the top five.
Digital Nintendo sales have not been included in the countdown because Nintendo does not reveal that data, so hits such as Mario Kart World, Pokemon Legends: Z-A and Donkey Kong Bananza aren’t featured. Call Of Duty: Black Ops 7 and Arc Raiders launched this month, so also haven’t been included in Circana’s countdown.
The best-selling video games in the US so far this year are:
- Battlefield 6
- NBA 2K26
- Monster Hunter: Wilds

Call Of Duty has been the best-selling video game in the US five times in the past six years but it’s been reported that Black Ops 7 sales are much lower than its 2024 predecessor and the game is currently the worst user-reviewed entry in the long-running franchise.
In a three-star review of Battlefield 6, NME wrote: “Providing a twist on the traditional Battlefield plotline and some picturesque new locations to enjoy (and destroy), this latest instalment will satisfy fans looking for more of the same only different. “
In other news, Grand Theft Auto 6 is now less than a year away… as long as it doesn’t get delayed again.
