Tigers Jaw have announced their seventh album, Lost On You, due out March 27 via Hopeless. It’s the follow-up to 2021’s very good I Won’t Care How You Remember Me, and the second album recorded with the duo of Ben Walsh and Brianna Collins joined by drummer Teddy Roberts and bassist Colin Gorman. This time they also have Mark Lebiecki, who has been playing live with them for a few years, on guitar, and regular collaborator Will Yip produced and engineered. The first single is “Head is Like a Sinking Stone,” which Walsh says was inspired by a childhood dream. “When I was a kid I had a strange recurring dream of jumping off the high dive at Nay Aug Park pool in Scranton, and after jumping in, time would just sort of freeze and I’d just be stuck there underwater,” he says. “The premise was pretty terrifying but the visual of sunshine reflecting on the ripples of water from the perspective of being beneath the surface was always kind of hauntingly beautiful. The chorus lyric sprung from a recollection of that dream and the rest followed. It serves as a kind of reminder to myself that beauty can be found in unexpected situations.”

Tigers Jaw are playing Run for Cover’s Boston mini-fest Something in the Way early next year, and they’ve also announced a Philly album release show, happening at Union Transfer on April 16. Tickets go on sale Friday, December 12 at 10 AM ET.
