New Jersey experimental metal collective Tombs has unveiled a haunting new single "The Sun Sets" in all its beefy, gloomy glory. "The Sun Sets" is taken from Tombs' upcoming full-length, Feral Darkness, due out October 17, 2025 via Redefining Darkness.

Bassist Drew Murphy shared: "I'm incredibly proud of what we've accomplished on the album. I'm particularly proud of this song. It's definitely a standout track in my opinion. When I listen to this song I feel like it takes me on an epic journey that ends with being stranded in the middle of a very angry sea. I hope everyone enjoys it as much as we do."

Frontman and Tombs founder Mike Hill describes the album as a culmination of the band's evolving sonic journey: "On Feral Darkness we are going deeper into the abyss, adding layer of expression that we've been working on over the last decade. The new album is the closest we have come to date with realizing our journey into the darker aspects of the cosmos with a healthy dose of personal introspection."

Feral Darkness features 10 tracks of searing emotional depth and sonic density, including the lead single and title track "Feral Darkness," which is now available to stream. The full album clocks in at just over 50 minutes and includes standout cuts like "Glass Eyes / Ghoul," "Granite Sky," and the epic "Nightland," featuring guest vocals from Sera Timms (Black Mare, Black Math Horsemen, Ides of Gemini).

The album was recorded and mixed by Justin Spaeth, mastered by Andreas Rosczyk, and features cover artwork by visual artist Seldon Hunt. Pre-orders for Feral Darkness are available now via Bandcamp and the Redefining Darkness store.
