Tommy WÁ details new EP, Hope Our Paths Cross

Hope Our Paths Cross will be WÁ's third EP release, and second on Dirty Hit, following 2023's Roadman and Folks. "Will You Wait?" arrives as the latest preview of the album, after earlier singles "There Goes My Youth" and "Alleluya (Another World)".

Speaking about the track, WÁ explains: "'Will You Wait?' is anchored in intimate details of the journey, asking whether love can sustain or find us while we're still becoming the people we're meant to be.”

Discussing the EP, which is another culmination of his immersion in African Folk Music, WÁ explains: “Hope Our Paths Cross is an inevitable departure from the communal comfort that Roadman and Folks and Somewhere Only We Go were built around. Every gathering eventually comes to an end, and as the Yoruba saying goes, 'Twenty children cannot play together for twenty years.' At some point, we all leave the playground.

These songs were written from that crossroads. They ask what happens when adulthood quietly replaces possibility with responsibility, and whether the people we're meant to align with can still recognise us as we become who we're supposed to be.
