Barry Keoghan is set to return to the world of Toy Boy for one of two new spin-off series. READ MORE: ‘Top Boy’ season five review: still the greatest TV show on Netflix Netflix has announced that the acclaimed crime drama will expand with two new shows, Jonny Boy and Jaq, with Keoghan and Jasmine Jobson reprising their respective roles. Both were unveiled as part of the streaming service’s new slate of UK commissions at the Edinburgh TV Festival yesterday (August 26). Jonny Boy will be a five-part prequel focusing on Keoghan’s Jonny McGee, the violent Irish gangster who was introduced as an antagonist in the fifth and final season of Top Boy in 2023. The character was the nephew of high-ranking Irish gang member Tadgh, played by Brian Gleeson, with the pair coming into conflict with Sully (Kane ‘Kano’ Robinson) after taking control of his drug supply. The original Top Boy creator Ronan Bennett will write Jonny Boy, with Holy Spider and Border filmmaker Ali Abbasi set to direct. The second series, with the current working title Jaq, will see Jobson return as Jacqueline ‘Jaq’ Lawrence, with the six-part show following the character’s life beyond Summerhouse.
