Tori Amos puts on a famously intense live show, and she's got a deep catalog of songs to play. Next month, Amos will release her new album In Times Of Dragons. On Wednesday night, she started a tour of the UK, where she lives now and where she's always been hugely popular, with a show at Sheffield City Hall. There, she played "Witness," a song from her 2005 album The Beekeeper, for the first time in 21 years.
When Amos played "Witness" last night, it was only her second time ever performing the song, according to Setlist.fm. She played it once in London when it was new, and that was it. On record, "Witness" is six minutes long. In Sheffield, Amos and her band stretched it out to nine minutes. Watch fan footage below.
At the Sheffield gig, Amos played old favorites like "Crucify" and "Cornflake Girl." She did new stuff, too. "Shush," one of the singles from In Times Of Dragons, got its live debut.
This one's not a rarity, but here's some extremely cool footage of Amos singing her 1996 classic "Caught A Lite Sneeze" while playing two pianos simultaneously.
In Times Of Dragons is out 5/1 via Universal/Fontana, and Amos will tour North America this summer. Based on these videos, that looks like something I would like to see.
