Travis Scott says Oasis helped inspire his next album

Travis Scott has said his upcoming album was partially inspired by Oasis. READ MORE: Travis Scott – ‘Utopia’ review: lofty concept, shaky execution The Houston rapper gave an update on new music to Variety, where he spoke about the follow-up to his 2023 album ‘Utopia‘. “I’m working on an album right now, and that’s fucking amazing,” he told the outlet. “And I’m constantly pushing myself to push the sonics to try to make something that I haven’t made before.” Though he was tight-lipped about his next record’s specific sound, he did cite a number of diverse influences on the album, including Oasis, Parliament, Don Toliver, Raphael Saadiq, and Daft Punk. He also said Van Halen was a reference point for their “mega-choruses and hard bass lines”. Scott went on to explain that his touring experiences have informed the album, too. “I need to double down on trying to make something that can reach the person that’s all the way back in the bowl, so how do I reach them like the person that’s right next to me,” he told Variety. “So that’s what I’m on — trying to elevate the show to a more theater aspect.” He added: “‘Utopia’ was supposed to be a play.
