Harry Potter stars Emma Watson and Zoe Wanamaker have each been banned from driving for six months after separate speeding incidents, reports the BBC.
Watson was caught driving 38 mph in a 30 mph zone in Oxford during July 2024. For the traffic offense, the Hermione Granger actress was fined £1,044 (currently equivalent to $1,400) by High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday, July 16th.
Before the incident, Watson had already racked up nine points on her license. In the UK, a driver can be banned for six months after tallying 12 or more penalty points within three years. They must also apply for a new license before returning to the road.
Wanamaker, who played broomstick flying instructor Madame Hooch, also had nine points on her license before being caught driving 46 mph in a 40 mph zone during August 2024. She received an identical fine from the High Wycombe Magistrates’ Court on Wednesday.
