Watch MASTODON Play Their First Show With Fill-In Guitarist NICK JOHNSTON

Mastodon just played their first show of many for 2025, and they've got new guitarist Nick Johnston with 'em! Johnston is filling the spot left vacant by Brent Hinds, who left the band earlier this year for whatever reason – he still hasn't issued a statement or given an interview on the matter. In the meantime, you can check out some footage of Johnston doing his thing above and below.

Johnston is also one hell of a choice considering his very progressive roots. Dude's worked with artists like Intervals, Scale the Summit, Periphery, Polyphia, Plini, David Maxim Micic, and Mike Dawes over the years. So clearly he's plenty qualified for the job.
