Celebrity Big Brother has aired Mickey Rourke’s apology following his eviction from the show – watch the clip below.

The actor entered the house on the latest season of Celebrity Big Brother last Monday (April 7), but soon made headlines stemming from “appropriate language” and “unacceptable behaviour” after already being issued a formal warning.

On Saturday (April 12), ITV announced Rourke’s removal from the Big Brother house and the show, saying in a statement: “Mickey Rourke has agreed to leave the Celebrity Big Brother House this evening following a discussion with Big Brother regarding further use of inappropriate language and instances of unacceptable behavior.”

Now, Celebrity Big Brother has aired Rourke’s chat with Big Brother, in which he’s told to leave the house and issues an apology for his actions. Big Brother tells him: “Mickey, Big Brother needs to speak to you about your behaviour. Earlier today in a disagreement with Chris, your language and behaviour was threatening and aggressive. Big Brother does not tolerate threatening language or behaviour. In addition, you have used inappropriate sexual language to Ella.”

Big Brother continued: “This language has caused offence to your fellow housemates and could cause offence to the viewing public. This is not the first time Big Brother has had to speak to you about your offensive and inappropriate language.”

Mickey Rourke began as part of his apology: “Yes sir. I did wrong. I apologise. I’m sorry. I can’t take it back, you know, I stepped over the line. And I take responsibility for doing the wrong thing. ‘Cause I lost my temper, and I’ve been trying to work on it my whole life and I wish I would have had better self-control and I’m very sorry.

“I’m ashamed of myself for losing it for a few seconds there. Nobody got touched or hurt. Maybe some feelings got hurt or maybe others have feelings about others getting upset but, you know, I’m sorry about that.”

After being told to leave the house, Rourke was given the opportunity to say a couple of parting words: “I blame myself, I know it was my bad. You know, I’ve got a short fuse and I know I upset a lot of people out there, you know. And I’m sorry for that.

“I’m actually ashamed of myself for getting that hot. I went over the line, you know, I did wrong. I guess, like they say, I’m a work in progress. I just wanna pack my bags and leave, you know. I wanted to leave yesterday actually but I wasn’t chosen.”

From the first day of Rourke’s less-than-a-week’s stay at the Celebrity Big Brother house, he caused controversy, appearing to have deliberately push himself against host AJ Odudu when talking to her. Then, he made headlines for using “offensive and unacceptable” language towards JoJo Siwa.

Rourke asked asked fellow competitor JoJo Siwa if she liked boys or girls. She replied: “Girls. My partner is non-binary.” He then told her: “If I stay longer than four days, you won’t be gay any more,” before she responded: “I can guarantee I’ll still be gay and I’ll still be in a very happy relationship.”

Rourke then made a comment about voting her out saying he’s “going to vote the lesbian out real quick” which Siwa overheard and replied: “That’s homophobic, if that was your reasoning.” Rourke would go on to apologise later, with Siwa accepting his apology.

However, despite the two warnings, Rourke would soon go on to earn his final strike – which was revealed in the latest episode of Celebrity Big Brother. During a task, Rourke led an expletive-filled and aggressive tirade against Chris Hughes, attempting to make advances towards him but never laying a hand on Hughes.

This season of Celebrity Big Brother is due to run for 19 days and will conclude on Friday April 25.
