Wes Scantlin Test Drives New Puddle of Mudd Album at Jiffy Lube: Watch

Puddle of Mudd frontman Wes Scantlin hit the streets to preview his band’s new album, Kiss the Machine, specifically rolling into a Jiffy Lube to get some feedback on the lead single “Beautimous.”

The new Puddle of Mudd album arrives this Friday (May 2nd), and Scantlin was curious to know what his friends at Jiffy Lube thought about the first single. In a video posted on YouTube, the singer asks if an employee by the name of Sampson is around to give the track a listen.

Sampson soon greets Scantlin, and offers up some dance moves, leading the Puddle of Mudd singer to declare, “Sampson digs it!”

He then tells Sampson, “Last time [I was here], you guys messed everything up dude,” leading a shocked Sampson to think Jiffy Lube may have screwed up Scantlin’s most recent oil change. Fortunately, Scantlin was “just kidding.”

Sampson then plays some Puddle of Mudd music for an employee who was less familiar with the band. She gets excited and takes a selfie with Scantlin, as another Jiffy Lube worker with a long white beard recognizes the singer, and fist bumps him.

Scantlin is usually making headlines for various arrests or onstage meltdowns, but this time it was all fun. As of now, Puddle of Mudd have a handful of dates scheduled for 2025, including a May 17th appearance at the Boardwalk Rock Festival in Ocean City, Maryland (pick up tickets here).
