Wet Leg have announced a run of massive UK outdoor shows next summer, including one at London’s Alexander Palace Park – buy tickets here.

The three July shows are set to be the five-piece’s biggest headline gigs to date. They’ll begin at Manchester’s Castlefield Bowl on July 8 before heading to Leeds’ Millennium Square on July 9 and then Alexander Palace Park in London on July 10. Leeds indie rockers English Teacher have been announced as support on all three dates.

Tickets are set to go on sale at 9:30am on Friday (October 31), and you can find them here. The pre-sale begins on Wednesday at 9:30am and you can sign up here.

The band are currently on their European headline tour and are set to play a string of UK and Ireland shows next month. They’ll begin with a show at London’s Royal Albert Hall on November 13 before visiting Liverpool, Nottingham, Norwich, Portsmouth, Cardiff, Dublin and Belfast.

In February next year, they’ll be heading to Australia and Japan, and are set to play Coachella, Primavera Sound and the Isle Of Wight Festival – taking them back to where they formed – before their UK summer headline shows.

In July, Wet Leg released their second album ‘Moisturizer’, their first as a quintet after touring members Henry Holmes, Josh Mobaraki and Ellis Durand joined co-founders Rhian Teasdale and Hester Chambers as official members of the band.

It arrived to critical acclaim, NME giving it a four-star review and writing: “After the whirlwind of their debut album, the Isle Of Wight band could have capitulated to the pressure. Instead, they return smarter, sexier and altogether stronger.”

The album saw them hit the top of the UK Albums Charts – beating Oasis and giving them their second Number One album.

On Friday (October 24) the band covered Empire Of The Sun’s 2008 single ‘Walking On A Dream’ in the BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge, putting a guitar-heavy spin on the electropop track.

Wet Leg’s cover came just weeks after Robbie Williams covered their 2021 single ‘Chaise Longue’ during a Live Lounge performance of his own, changing some of the lyrics to nod to his career, including changing the line in the song’s first verse, “I went to school and I got a degree,” to “I joined Take That and got a pop star degree.”

Also earlier this month, Wet Leg shared a self-directed video for their single ‘mangetout’. In the video, vocalist Teasdale features in a huge blonde-and-black wig that obscures her face. Halfway through the video, things take a graphic twist as Teasdale pulls off the wig to show that her face and body are covered in blood.
