This year’s Nelsonville Music Festival (an annual institution that we dubbed a world-class event with an Appalachian twist) is just around the corner. It’s set to take place from June 20th through June 22nd at the Snow Fork Event Center in the rolling hills of southeast Ohio, and it’s sure to be yet another edition fans of folk, indie rock, and good vibes won’t want to miss. Luckily, Consequence is giving away two weekend passes to the three-day musical celebration to catch sets from over 40 national, regional, and local acts from a variety of genres.
Nelsonville Music Festival 2025’s diverse lineup is headlined by Charley Crockett, known for his compelling blend of country, blues, and soul, will bring his authentic Texas sound to the Ohio hills on Friday night. Then, Saturday will see Waxahatchee, the indie rock project of Katie Crutchfield that made it into the top three of our Best Albums of 2024 list with Tigers Blood, take the stage. Finally, blues master Taj Mahal will round out the headlining trio on Sunday, bringing decades of experience and his distinctive approach to traditional blues, folk, and world music.
TIndie rock fans will also be treated to performances from rising stars MJ Lenderman, DEHD, and BALTHVS, while folk and Americana enthusiasts can catch The War and Treaty, Ocie Elliott, and Bonnie “Prince” Billy. The festival also features compelling acts like Watchhouse, Black Lips, Charlie Parr, Southern Avenue, Pachyman, Low Cut Connie, Nora Brown with Stephanie Coleman, Merce Lemon, and many more acts across the three days of music. Beyond the tunes, Nelsonville Music Festival offers on-site camping, kids’ activities, unique artisan and retail vendors, local food, and the kind of intimate atmosphere that fosters genuine connections between artists and fans. As a production of Stuart’s Opera House, a non-profit historic theater, all proceeds from the festival directly support arts education programs in the community.
