Yungblud postponed his show at Liverpool’s Grand Central Hall on Friday due to tonsillitis, but to make it up to fans, he’s offering all ticket holders a free drink at a nearby bar.
The show arrived as part of Yungblud’s busy itinerary supporting IDOLS, the first part of his double album released last month. However, as he confirmed on his Instagram Story, his doctors advised him to postpone the prior night’s show in Dundee, Scotland, as well as his July 11th show in Liverpool.
“My fucking tonsilitis still hasn’t cleared up so I’m getting steroid treatment,” Yungblud wrote. “I have plans to get the fuckers out as they’re a weak point for me but I need to find some time as obviously we’ve been non stop… I’m ready to rock but my body is letting me down this week, I hate being in bed it terrifies me.”
He continued: “The doctor has asked me to postpone Liverpool even though I can still sing. Please understand I hate letting you down. I wanna say fuck it and just do it but they said I could really do damage to my voice.” He also confirmed that the two postponed shows would be made up for “around the arena tour next year” and that the following two concerts in Bristol and Southampton would continue as scheduled.
In hopes of making it up to disappointed fans, Yungblud also shared that he had “put some money behind the bar at @motel_bar” in Liverpool. Fans who have tickets for the postponed Liverpool show will be able to show their ticket at the Metrocola Bar to get a free drink. I’m so sad I can’t be there but at least you can be together and celebrate each other, as that’s what Yungblud is all about. Go to the bar, play the tunes and have a good time. I love you. Again, I’m truly sorry.”
Yungblud has been particularly busy lately; just last Saturday, he appeared at Black Sabbath’s seismic “Back to the Beginning” concert (performing a notable rendition of “Changes” alongside Tom Morello), hopped on a plane to Belgium, then performed a midnight slot at Rock Werchter. He’ll hit North America later this year for the “Idols Tour,” which kicks off in Los Angeles on August 23rd. Get tickets to see Yungblud here.
