It’s New Music Friday, and there are some excellent new albums to stream and ring in the weekend.

It’s a big day in hip-hop, as Lil Wayne, Little Simz, and McKinley Dixon have all dropped new albums. Furthermore, hardcore-turned-rock heroes Turnstile continue to gain momentum with their fourth studio album, while Britpop icons Pulp have unveiled their first full-length record in over two decades. Plus, several musicians from different spaces have come together to commemorate Broken Social Scene’s sophomore album.

Scroll on to see 10 new albums to stream this weekend.

Cypress Hill and the London Symphony Orchestra — Black Sunday Live at the Royal Albert Hall

Nothing enhances live hip-hop like instrumentation, except Cypress Hill took that to a whole other level. To celebrate 30 years since the release of their seminal 1993 album Black Sunday, the Southern California rap group teamed up with the London Symphony Orchestra in 2024 to perform the LP in its entirety at the Royal Albert Hall. The recording of the performance includes revamped fan favorites like “Insane in the Brain,” “When the Shit Goes Down,” and “I Wanna Get High.”

Finn Wolfhard — Happy Birthday

In between filming seasons of Stranger Things and various film projects, Finn Wolfhard has devoted hours to his musical endeavors; first as a member of Calpurnia, then The Aubreys, and now as a solo artist. Like the best actor/musician combos, Wolfhard is super comfortable straddling the worlds of film and music, evidenced by his recent Crate Digging selections of 10 movie soundtracks he thinks everyone should own.

Lil Wayne — Tha Carter VI

Not only does Tha Carter VI continue iconic rapper Lil Wayne’s long-running naming convention, it also serves as his first solo album in five years. Following in the footsteps of 2018’s Tha Carter V, the project is yet another helping of classic Wayne, featuring contributions from an array of collaborations including Jelly Roll, Machine Gun Kelly, BigXthaPlug, Big Sean, Lin-Manuel Miranda, and Bono. To celebrate the record’s release, the artist will hit the road for an extensive tour later this summer.

Little Simz — Lotus

Little Simz has been in the game for about 15 years, but it wasn’t until the release of her 2021 album Sometimes I Might Be Introvert that she truly began receiving her due shine. After another level up with 2022’s No Thank You, she returns today with her highly-anticipated follow-up, Lotus. The record’s lead single, “Flood,” was our Song of the Week back in late February, and the rest of the tracklist has unsurprisingly lived up to that same standard.

The EP is comprised of four songs and was originally set to be included as a Record Store Day 2025 release before being postponed; now, at the request of her family, Burning Moonlight will arrive as an extension and celebration of Faithfull’s catalogue.

MARINA is back with PRINCESS OF POWER, her sixth studio album and her first since departing from Atlantic Records in 2021. The release finds MARINA leaning into her empowering, stylized pop vision, bolstered by the chipper lead single “BUTTERFLY” and the Salma Hayek-referencing follow-up “CUNTISSIMO.” She’s also supporting the album with appearances at multiple major festivals, including Coachella, Bonnaroo, Lollapalooza, Outside Lands, and Austin City Limits.

McKinley Dixon — Magic, Alive!

After releasing the outstanding Beloved! Paradise! Jazz!? — which we named one of the best albums of 2023 — Chicago rapper McKinley Dixon continues his prolific streak with Magic, Alive!. As with the rest of Dixon’s work, Magic, Alive! asks big questions about connection, death, survival, and the magic of the everyday. The new record also features some terrific guests, from Anjimile and Quelle Chris to Shamir and Pink Siifu.
