10 New Songs Out Today

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

MYRKUR – “TOUCH MY LOVE AND DIE”

Myrkur’s new single is her first new music in two years, and she’s performing it at the Dansk Melodi Grand Prix song competition next month, where she’s vying to represent Denmark at Eurovision.

HONOR CHOIR – “SATELLITE RECIEVER”

OKC band Honor Choir are releasing their debut EP, Modes of Transport, on February 13 via Sunday Drive, and they’ve given us another preview with the grungy emo/post-hardcore track “Satellite Receiver.”

JOSH DA COSTA – “SKYGIRL”

Josh da Costa, who played in bands Regal Degal and CMON, is back with this new single on Stones Throw that mixes baggy Madchester beats with dreampop vibes.

PETRICHOR – SEDUCED BY CONQUERING DARKNESS

The person behind Blackbraid also has another black metal project called Petrichor, and he just released an intense two-song EP.

WORM – “WITCHMOON: THE INFERNAL MASQUERADE” FT. MARTY FRIEDMAN

Worm’s anticipated new album Necroplace arrives next month, and they’ve given us another preview with the 14-minute “Witchmoon: The Infernal Masquerade,” which features former Megadeth guitarist Marty Friedman.

JAMES BLAKE – “DEATH OF LOVE”

James Blake announced his seventh album and gave us a preview with “Death of Love,” which you can read more about here.

SAVAGES – “PARANOID” (BLACK SABBATH COVER) & “PRAYER”

UK band Savages released their second album, Adore Life, 10 years ago today, and to celebrate they’ve shared two previously unreleased songs from the era: a mournful, piano-led cover of Black Sabbath’s “Paranoid,” and the atmospheric slow-burner “Prayer.”

THE SCYTHE – “LIT EFFECT”

Denzel Curry teamed with Ferg, Bktherula, TiaCorina, and Key Nyata to form The Scythe, and they’ve shared the first single off their debut project, which you can read more about here.

THE MONOCHROME SET – “LOTUS BRIDGE”

UK proto-sophistipop post-punk OGs The Monochrome Set are back with their 17th album, Lotus Bridge, that will be out March 13 via Tapete. Here’s the first single and title track.
