7 New Songs Out Today

4 weeks ago 14

So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

THE MESSTHETICS & JAMES BRANDON LEWIS – “DEFACE THE CURRENCY”

The Messthetics and James Brandon Lewis are releasing their new collaborative album, Deface the Currency, in February, and they’ve shared the title track.

JJEROME87 – “BRUSH ME LIKE A HORSE”

alt-J singer Joe Newman has launched a new solo project, JJerome87, along with new single “Brush Me Like A Horse.” He made it with producer Carlos De La Garza, and he says, “[Brush Me Like A Horse] is the story of a man slowly turning into a horse. This metamorphosis has the world around him forgetting who he is as people begin to care for him more and more like a horse. This song was inspired partly by something I’d seen a friend go through. They didn’t turn into a horse, but their reputation went through a metamorphosis.”

BON IVER – “NAEEM (CAN’T YOU HEAR CRYING)” (LIVE FROM LA PRIMA ESTATE FESTIVAL, LIDO DI CAMAIORE, ITALY. JUNE 17 2023)

100% of proceeds from Bon Iver’s new live track will be donated to the Immigrant Law Center of Minnesota, and it’s paw what you wish, or as much as you can. “We hope this music, in any way, helps,” Bon Iver say.

COROOK – “SCOOBY”

corook has shared their first new music of the year, “Scooby,” saying, “fuck billionaires and fuck ice.”

NOAH KAHAN – “THE GREAT DIVIDE”

Noah Kahan’s new album The Great Divide is due out on April 24 via Mercury, and he’s shared the first single and title track, which recalls Zach Bryan a little. “The last five years have been the single most challenging, complicatedly beautiful, and life-altering of my career,” he says. “I was somewhere I understood, and suddenly I was somewhere completely foreign. I was living in the opportunity I always wanted but felt disoriented and unsure of whether I deserved it. Writing for this album was a balancing act of trying to go back in time and move forward in the same moment. Songwriting has always been the way I reflect on my life, and I hope these songs show you a glimpse of what this journey has looked like.”

EARTH TONGUE – “SILVER EYE”

Earth Tongue are gearing up to release their Ty Segall-produced third album Dungeon Vision and say “Silver Eye” grew out of their 2025 tour. “It became one of our favorite parts of the show- high-energy riffs, groovy sections, and a massive ending,” they say. “We want the audiences of our upcoming tours to get to know it so they’re ready.”

GEORGIA GETS BY – “FADED ROSE”

Georgia Nott of BROODS announced her debut LP as Georgia Gets By and shared the first single, which you can read more about here.
