So many artists, so many songs, so little time. Each week we review a handful of new albums (of all genres), round up even more new music that we’d call “indie,” and talk about what metal is coming out. We post music news, track premieres, and more all day. We update a playlist weekly of some of our current favorite tracks. Here’s a daily roundup with a bunch of interesting, newly released songs in one place.

RAILCARD (DOLLY MIXTURE, HEAVENLY) – “DAY DREAM”

Railcard are a DIY indiepop supergroup featguring Rachel Love (Dolly Mixture), Ian Button (Catenary Wires, Swansea Sound) and Peter Momtchiloff (Heavenly, Would-Be-Goods) who, if those names mean anything to you, you will not be surprised to learn make jangly guitar pop on the twee side. The band’s two digital EPs from 2025 are being pressed as one LP that’s out next week via Slumberland / Skep Wax and here’s the new video for “Day Dream.”

SWEET PILL – “SLOW BURN”

Sweet Pill’s anticipated new album There’s a Glow arrives in March, andthe latest single is “Slow Burn.” “I kept seeing a cigarette and how every slow drag fills you up with literal death, but the exhale feels so good–the irony of how something that feels good is so bad for you,” vocalist Zayna Youssef says. “There are countless things in my life I take a deeeep, slow drag from that really don’t benefit me, these habits have a short term satisfaction but the long term effect can be just one big slowburn. The song and video explore anxiety disguised as cameras and their constant surveillance. A snapshot into the mind of someone who overthinks to the point of ‘seeing things’ that may not even be there. Whether I am battling confidence or bad habits, overthinking can be so habitual. It kind of traps you in this circular purgatory which you find me running in and out of.”

ANNA PRIOR (METRONOMY) – “SILENCE”

Metronomy just announced their first show after a three-year hiatus and now comes this new single from their drummer, Anna Prior. It’s the first taste of her new EP Firefly that’s out February 26 via Beat Palace. “I wanted to write something sharp and fierce that was reflecting my mood at the time,” Anna sayss. “It was a period of quiet, of nothingness, when a lot of my communication with friends, colleagues and probably the world in general were going unanswered. It’s filled with frustration but once I got the song down, I felt a profound sensation of FREEDOM.”

PENNY ARCADE (ULTIMATE PAINTING / VERONICA FALLS) – “REAR VIEW MIRROR”

James Hoare, formerly of Veronica Fall and Ultimate Painting, has announced his new album as Penny Arcade. It’s titled Double Exposure and is out April 17 via Tapete. “The song is built around a drum beat from an Elka Drummer One drum machine,” James says of the first single. “I got hold of one of these some years ago as it was favoured by a number of German groups (Cluster, Harmonia) who I admire. You can adjust the volume of the individual drums to create interesting patterns. It’s a slight departure from previous Penny Arcade songs being more minimal in nature with very basic instrumentation.”

CHRISTINE AND THE QUEENS & THEE DIANE – “AH YA”

Christine and the Queens and Thee Diane teamed up for a new single, “Ah Ya.” Christine and the Queens’ Rahim says:

From our friendship, the legacy is music
We’ve been singing together for several years – now, our voices answer each other, melt into one
In the writing, too, things come to us harmoniously, in one breath –
Where the music goes, we go without thinking
The melody then unfolds to bring us its sweet, sweet relief
Find a sister,
Find a brother
In the night of the world
Conversations, late at night ; the pact is sealed :
We built our sound,
We protect our sound.
Ah ya is the collaboration of two rebels, and I say this without flaunting,
Since we still dare to love in the night of a world so fragile
Since we dream ourselves free,
Total emancipation of our fortresses
