A$AP Rocky has announced a world tour in support of his new album Don’t Be Dumb. North American dates kick off May 27 in Chicago and wrap July 11 in Newark, NJ. All dates, including NYC’s Governor’s Ball, are listed below.
The NJ show is at Prudential Center (7/11), and tickets for all headline shows go on sale Tuesday, January 27 at 9 AM local time.
Meawhile, Rocky just shared the video for “Whisky/Black Demarco,” which stars Tim Burton, who did the artwork for the album. In it, Burton falls asleep at a bar while drawing in his sketchbook, and the very Burton-esque characters in it — all very The Nightmare Before Christmas — come alive and wreak havoc in NYC. Another Burton-esque touch: it’s narrated by a Vincent Price soundalke. Directed by AWGE, Pinky and Zemborain, this is the latest in a string of great Rocky videos. Check that out below.
Rocky also performed on Saturday Night Live this past weekend, playing “PUNK ROCKY” with Thundercat, Danny Elfman, and Mark Harley (who were all in the video) on hand; and then “DON’T BE DUMB”/”TRIP BABY” and “HELICOPTER.” He also appeared in a new SNACKHOMIEZ sketch featuring host Finn Wolfhard and Sabrina Carpenter, who reprised her role as the podcast’s host. Watch those clips below.
Finally, Rocky did a medley of Don’t Be Dumb songs for a livestreamed event on Sunday, January 18 which was A$AP Yams Day (which marks the passing of crew member Yams 11 years ago). The video, which streamed via Amazon, is another ambitious production involving helicopters and various NYC locations. Watch clips from that below.
