Aerosmith Announce Deluxe Reissues of Self-Titled Debut Album

Aerosmith have unveiled an expanded “Legendary Edition” of their 1973 self-titled debut album.

The reissues arrive March 20th in multiple physical configurations including a 5-LP vinyl box set, a 4-LP vinyl slipcase, single LP vinyl, 3-CD box set, single CD, plus a digital release.

The collection houses the 2024 remaster of the original tracklist, plus a new 2024 mix by Steven Tyler and Joe Perry alongside producer and mixer Zakk Cervini that’s billed as the Aerosmith co-founders’ “unfiltered vision” of the original album.

Each of those is presented on a single LP in the 5-LP box set, which is rounded out by an era-specific live recording (“Live at Paul’s Mall, March 20th, 1973”), additional session and rehearsal takes, and an exclusive clear UV cloud-effect 12-inch record containing both the 2024 remaster and 2024 remix of “Dream On.”

As for the packaging, the box set unfolds into a 3D Aerosmith popup diorama and houses a hardback book with never-before-seen photos, liner notes by Rick Florino, interviews with all five original band members, and acknowledgements by major artists such as Dolly Parton, Corey Taylor of Slipknot, Mike McCready of Pearl Jam, Jerry Cantrell of Alice In Chains, Chris Robinson of The Black Crowes, Slash of Guns N’ Roses, Sully Erna of Godsmack, and more. Other ephemera includes a fold-out poster and sticker sheet.
