Alex G has released “June Guitar,” the latest single from his upcoming album, Headlights.
Like much of the music he’s made since 2022’s God Save the Animals, “June Guitar” sees Alex G take on an inventive version of Americana, layering acoustic and electric guitars over a subdued rhyme section, as he delivers a candid vocal line over top. At its climax, the song crescendos with an anthemic accordion refrain, which carries the tune through the outro.
“June Guitar” arrived today along with a music video showing Alex G performing the song in a laid-back kickback context. Stream and the single and watch the video below.
Headlights will be the tenth studio album by Alex G, and was announced this past May along with the release of its lead single, “Afterlife.”
Up next, Alex G will hit the road in support of Headlights with his 2025 North American tour, where he’ll be joined by Nilüfer Yanya for performances in Boston, Toronto, Chicago, Los Angeles, Phoenix, Atlanta, Nashville, and more cities. The tour kicks off on September 11th, and wraps on October 11th in Philadelphia. Get tickets here.
