Wicked fans are in for a treat ahead of the Wicked: For Good theatrical release this fall.
On November 6th, NBC will air a Wicked special live from the Dolby Theater in Los Angeles, featuring the film’s stars, Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo. The duo, along with other stars from the movie (plus surprise guests) will perform songs from the first Wicked film. NBCUniversal is also teasing that “maybe, just maybe, a little bit from the upcoming film,” according to a press release.
The show is set to air on NBC at 8:00 p.m. ET/PT on November 6th, and will start streaming on Peacock beginning on November 7th. Wicked: For Good will make its theatrical release on November 21st.
Grande and Erivo are no strangers to performing live on television together; the pair teamed up to open the 2025 Oscars with a medley of songs from Wicked, The Wizard of Oz, and The Wiz.
Released last November, Wicked grossed more than $750 million at the global box office, becoming the biggest Broadway musical adaptation of all time. The movie pulled in 10 Oscar nominations, securing two wins: Best Costume Design, and Best Production Design.
