London trio bar italia have announced new album Some Like it Hot which will be out October 17 via Matador. The album includes this year’s “Cowbella” single and they’ve just shared the album’s opening cut, “Fundraiser.”
“Fundraiser” is easily the most immediate, hooky song bar italia have ever given us, sporting a a new wave guitar riff that you could imagine XTC using in 1979. Nina Cristante, Jezmi Tarik Fehmi and Sam Fenton are still trading off lead vocals but here it feels like like a game of Exquisite Corpse and more like structured rock song. You can catch bar italia on tour in November with Voyeur opening West Coast dates and Lifeguard opening on the East Coast. The NYC show is at Brooklyn Paramount on 11/22. All dates are listed below.
