Bathing Suits sign to Underplay Recordings and share new single, “Empathy”

Operating with the mantra “Always dancey. Always loud. Always sexy”, Bathing Suits’ “Empathy” arrives as a seven-minute techno epic. The track, recorded and produced by Leeds/Berlin DJ and producer Benny Howell (aka DJ Subaru), calls back to the band’s beginnings in Leeds’ DIY party scene, following previous singles “Lousy Havoc / Relay” and “I Can Be A Freak”, released last year.

Discussing the meaning behind “Empathy”, vocalist Freyja Blevins says: “It’s about feeling like there's no empathy left for anyone - like we’ve run out of it or something. The song feels cold, angry, suffocating and tense. But it was really fun writing and working on it together.”

Bathing Suits are the very first signing to Underplay Recordings, which is a newly launched venture in partnership with Virgin Music Group, following previous collaborations on campaigns for Art School Girlfriend and Anthony Szmierek.
