On Monday (August 18th), BBC pulled the premiere of the documentary Ozzy Osbourne: Coming Home from its schedule just hours before airtime without explanation. Now, the UK broadcasting company has revealed that the decision was made out of respect for the “family’s wishes.”

“Our sympathies are with the Osbourne family at this difficult time,” the BBC noted in a statement released Tuesday (August 19th). “We are respecting the family’s wishes to wait a bit longer before airing this very special film. The new [transmission] date will be confirmed shortly.”

The BBC had been given access to the Osbourne family as part of a planned 10-part series originally titled Home to Roost, which was set to document Ozzy and wife Sharon’s move from Los Angeles back to England. In the wake of Ozzy’s passing on July 22nd, the footage was edited into a one-hour documentary chronicling the final years of the metal legend’s life.
