“Vindicate” is the fourth single from the album, following “Bleeders,” “Hallelujah,” and “Certainty,” the latter of which was named our Heavy Song of the Week in January.
The new song showcases the band’s trademark theatrical heavy metal sound, fusing anthemic hard rock, metalcore riffs and breakdowns, and glam metal-inspired lead guitarwork, set against a gothic metal backdrop. Of particular note, as with the other singles released thus far, is the sharp and dynamic drumming, injecting more technical grooves and fills than past BVB releases.
Vocalist Andy Biersack said of the new album, “This record is rooted in the feelings of revenge and vindication. These are emotions that can either push us forward or hold us back. There’s a duality to them. They can fuel growth, drive ambition, and help us rise above what’s tried to break us, but they can also become destructive if we let them consume us.”
He added, “Each song explores a different side of that struggle. Sometimes it’s about getting even with someone else, sometimes it’s about confronting ourselves and our past, our pain, or the things that were done to us. At its core, though, this album is about resilience.”
