Bon Scott’s Estate Announces Merch Campaign for Late AC/DC Singer’s 80th Birthday

Bon Scott’s estate is celebrating what would have been the late AC/DC singer’s 80th birthday with a new merchandising campaign.

Set to launch on Bon’s b-day, July 9th, the merch spans multiple items, from various physical collectibles to apparel, and sees the estate in partnership with Perryscope Productions.

Notably, legendary German microphone makers Neumann are releasing a “limited-edition signature product” on the 9th, though the exact item wasn’t specified at this time. Other highlights include:

• Limited edition 1-ounce gold and 10-ounce silver bars bearing Bon’s name and likeness, issued by The Perth Mint following a similar coin collab in 2024
• Posters, T-shirts, and more featuring exclusive work by graphic artist and fellow Aussie rocker Reg Mombassa
• Knucklebonz’s third ultra-detailed Bon Scott statue, based on images from the 1978 “Powerage Tour”
• Bon Scott Tartan shirts by Dixxon Flannel Co. and a “Bon 80” soccer jersey by Copa Football Jerseys — each based on the official Bon Scott tartans created in partnership with Gordon Nicolson Kiltmakers.

Another item of note surrounding Bon’s 80th is the launch of a new YouTube channel in partnership with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation, providing Bon-related video content and exclusive interviews with his friends, peers, and admirers. Per a press release, Rick Springfield, Bruce Howe (Fraternity), Sammy Hagar, and Scott Ian (Anthrax) were all recently sat on camera to discuss Bon’s legacy.

In related news, Bonfest — billed as The International Bon Scott Rock Festival — celebrates its 20th anniversary this year and takes place May 1st through the 3rd in Kirriemuir, Scotland. Presented by Kirriemuir youth charity DD8 Music, the fest features rock bands and AC/DC tribute acts, each celebrating Bon’s life and legacy. 2026 guests include UK rock legends Reef and former AC/DC drummer Chris Slade. After that, the third annual “Bon’s Birthday Bash” takes place in New York City on July 6th.

Meanwhile, around half of AC/DC’s current setlist consists of Bon Scott-era songs, i.e. iconic hits like “Highway to Hell,” “T.N.T.,” and “Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap.” The band’s North American tour is set to kick off on July 11th, and you can get tickets here.
