It wouldn't be Bonnaroo if it were dry.
Due to lightning and rain in Manchester, TN today, the festival canceled sets by Nat Myers, Little Stranger, Buffalo Traffic Jam, Girl Tones, MOTIFV, Aly & AJ, Spacey Jane, Hemlocke Springs, Blondshell, A Hundred Drums, and Trombone Shorty.
Aly & AJ were also scheduled to play last year, when three of the festival's four days were canceled. "We love you Bonnaroo!" AJ Michalka said on the pop-rock duo's Instagram Stories. "We really think you should change the month your festival is, though. But no hard feelings." The sisters added in a post that they'll try again in 2027.
Michalka flew in from France, where she is filming a role in The White Lotus season 4.
Prior to last year's shutdown, Bonnaroo 2020 was called off along with most major festivals due to COVID-19, and the 2021 edition didn't happen because of flooding from Hurricane Ida. Severe weather also impacted the festival in 2024, but no sets were canceled.
Last summer, Bonnaroo shared a survey asking attendees whether they would consider dates later in the summer or in late September/early October. Bonnaroo ultimately kept its traditional mid-June dates for 2026. Tonight's performances, which will livestream on Hulu and Disney+, include Noah Kahan, Kesha, and Modest Mouse.
At least Bowl Of Cum (aka Geese) got to play on Friday:
