Born of Osiris have announced their first new album in four years, Through Shadows, out July 11th via Sumerian Records.
The metalcore act also served up the title track and latest single, a five-minute prog workout bolstered by electro rhythms and pinpoint musical precision. The band’s brutality is completely mechanized here, the various instrumentation locked tightly in place, while vocalist Ronnie Canizaro’s gutturals emerge as the most tangibly organic element in the mix.

“‘Through Shadows’ is a reflection of the human experience — both the quiet struggles and the heavy storms we each endure,” the band stated in a press release. “It’s about confronting the darkness with the understanding that without shadow, there is no light to shine through. When all feels lost, we’re left with a choice: face demise, or defend our existence. This song is our call to choose the light, even in our darkest moments.”
The album announcement comes after a string of singles including “Torchbearer,” “A Mind Short Circuiting,” “Elevate,” and “In Desolation,” all of which are included on the tracklist for Through Shadows. Born of Osiris are set to tour Canada in the month preceding the album’s release, with dates kicking off June 18th in London, Ontario. Get tickets here.
