Bret Michaels Addresses Rikki Rockett’s Claim About Nixed Poison Tour

Poison frontman Bret Michaels has subtly addressed drummer Rikki Rockett’s claim that the singer’s unreasonable financial demands nixed a planned 2026 tour.

As previously reported, Rockett told the New York Post that Poison had panned on embarking on a tour this year in celebration of the 40th anniversary of their debut album, Look What the Cat Dragged In, but financial matters got in the way.

“We had a great offer, I thought,” said Rockett. “But we left the table. It didn’t work. Really what it came to was [guitarist] C.C. Deville, [bassist] Bobby [Dall] and I were all in, and I thought Bret was, but he wanted the lion’s share of the money, to the point where it makes it not possible to even do it. It’s like $6 to every one of our dollars. You just can’t work that way.”

On Wednesday, Michaels indirectly responded to the drummer’s allegations in an Instagram post in which he also congratulated Green Day and Bad Bunny on their upcoming Super Bowl performances, as well as Rockett on his Metal Hall of Fame induction:

“To @GreenDay and @badbunnypr – congratulations on the Super Bowl concert. I cannot wait to watch it and I cannot wait to announce a Bucket List @NFL dream come true (stay tuned…)

To my friend @RikkiRockett – have fun tonight with my good buddy @EddieTrunk and enjoy the Metal Hall of Fame ceremony.

As always, I consider Poison to be Bobby, C.C., Rikki and myself. I also make no bones about loving the BMB [Bret Michaels Band] and will always have both in my life.

Bottom line – I love music, I love the fans and I’m always forever grateful. Onward & upward and let’s all focus on the positive in 2026, and the potential of a future reunion.”

As Michaels mentioned, he appears open to a Poison reunion in the future, but it looks like it won’t happen in 2026. The band last performed in September 2022 as support on the Mötley Crüe-Def Leppard “Stadium Tour.”

Either way, Michaels appears to have a busy 2026 ahead of him, as it was recently announced that a biopic and memoir are set to be released sometime this year.
