Bright Eyes announce new EP, share “Dyslexic Palindome” ft. Hurray for the Riff Raff’s Alynda Segarra

Bright Eyes announced a new EP, Kids Table, due out September 26 via Dead Oceans. It’s the follow up to last year’s great Five Dice, All Threes, and a press release describes it as “both a partner-in-crime to that album and a self-contained world all of its own.” See the cover art and tracklist below.

The EP includes their recent ska song, “1st World Blues,” and they’ve shared another single, the country-tinged “Dyslexic Palindrome.” It features Alynda Segarra of Hurray for the Riff Raff, who toured with Bright Eyes this year. “Alynda Segarra is one of the most soulful people I have ever encountered,” Conor Oberst says. “Everything that passes through them is haunted by the weary ghost of American music past. I have had the good fortune of recording and performing with them on many occasions and I am always blown away by Alynda’s ability to channel what is both intangible and universal. Seemingly walking along in a second line of skeletons. Blowing on a valiant horn. I know it sounds crazy but, yet, there Alynda is. Always so very present but with one foot on the other side.”

Bright Eyes have US tour dates lined up through early September with Saintseneca, followed by shows in Japan and Singapore in November and December. See all dates below.
