Bright Eyes benefit concert film premiering on Veeps; Conor Oberst talks favorite birthday memories

Bright Eyes frontman Conor Oberst celebrates his birthday on February 15, and for the occasion, he and and the band are debuting a new concert film on Veeps. “An Evening with Bright Eyes & Cursive” was filmed at their Burlington, VT show at Higher Ground during last year’s tour for their great 2024 album Five Dice, All Threes, and it also features behind-the-scenes interviews and career-spanning sets from both Bright Eyes and Cursive. It premieres on Sunday, February 15 at 2 PM ET, and tickets are on sale now. All proceeds benefit Poison Oak Project, Bright Eyes’ charitable initiative dedicated to advancing equity for LGBTQ+ people, with a particular focus on supporting the trans community.

Ahead of the premiere, we asked Conor to tell us about his favorite birthday memories, and he recounted a 40th birthday rager thrown by Phoebe Bridgers, bounce house included; an Omaha hamburger joint full of clown paintings; and more. Watch that, and a teaser for the film, below.

Bright Eyes also have three special live shows lined up this spring where they’ll celebrate 21 years of I’m Wide Awake, It’s Morning and Digital Ash in a Digital Urn by playing each album in full, with a set from longtime friends from the era in between. They’ll be in NYC on June 6 at Forest Hills Stadium with Built to Spill, and you can see all dates below.
