Bruce Springsteen has lent his song “Born in the USA” to a new short film that highlights the stories of American citizens who were wrongfully targeted by ICE.
According to the Asbury Park Press, Springsteen authorized usage of the music video for “Born in the U.S.A.” and various live footage, as well as narration from recent concerts in which he criticized Donald Trump’s immigration policies. “They’re removing residents off America’s streets and without due process and are deporting them to foreign detention centers and prisons,” Springsteen says in the video.
The film was created by Robert Greenwald and Brave New Films.
Last month, Springsteen released a new song called “Streets of Minneapolis,” which details the clash between ICE and protestors and lionizes the deaths of Renee Good and Alex Pretti. He also played a surprise set at a Tom Morello led anti-ICE concert in Minneapolis
