‘Call Of Duty’ teases ‘Squid Game’ crossover

The hit Netflix show Squid Game is getting a Call Of Duty: Black Ops 6 and Warzone collaboration in January 2025.

As reported by Eurogamer, in a short teaser video, a Black Ops 6 soldier is seen picking up a small rectangular card with a triangle, circle, and square on it, like the mysterious cards seen in the Squid Game show. Music from the show plays, and then the shapes morph into the Call Of Duty logo.

Other than that there are no details as to what this collaboration could entail. We may see the pink overalls and featureless mask of the workers in Squid Game become a new operator skin. What would be more exciting would be if we got levels inspired by the deadly challenges in Squid Game.

Squid Game is a fictional South Korean show that follows a group of contestants on a cruel game show. They play kids games with a deadly twist for the chance to win millions and claw their way out of poverty. It’s a scathing critique on capitalism and inequality, and it’s been turned into an actual reality show that became Netflix’s most-viewed programme.

From the original show, one of the games involves a robot singing a song, and if contestants keep moving when the robot stops, they get shot. There’s also a tug of war over a fatal drop and one where players have to jump along glass panels, not knowing which ones will break.

All of these could be feasibly be implemented into Black Ops 6 and Warzone in some way, but it’s more likely we’ll just be getting some new operator and weapon skins.

In other news, there are a lot of great games leaving Game Pass this month.
