Carly Rae Jepsen Announces New Double Album Day And Night

4 days ago 7

Look who's back! Carly Rae Jepsen, queen of critically acclaimed cult-favorite pop stars, has recently been teasing a return, and it's about time. Jepsen never stops touring, but she hasn't dropped a new album since 2022's The Loneliest Time and its 2023 companion piece The Loveliest Time. She's back in a few months with a big new double album called Day And Night.

You have probably already figured out the idea here. Day And Night has 24 new Carly Rae Jepsen songs, with 12 for daytime and 12 for the night. Here's how a press release describes the difference between the two discs: "Day is organic and raw, with live instrumentation and hints of '70s-inspired psychedelic pop. Night is exploratory and intense, shifting into a sleek, synth-driven world of dance-pop." Jepsen recorded it with collaborators like Tavish Crowe, Kyle Shearer, Nate Cyphert, and Cole M.G.N.

We don't get to hear any actual music from Day And Night yet, but lead single "On Wires" come out on Friday. The album is set to arrive just before Jepsen plays a headlining set at All Things Go NYC. Day And Night is out 9/18 on Interscope. Pre-order it here.
