Channing Tatum, Jonah Hill, and Ice Cube in Talks to Return for 24 Jump Street: Report

It’s never too late to go back to Jump Street, it appears. After over a decade in development, Variety reports that a third movie in the 21 Jump Street series is in the works: original stars Jonah Hill, Channing Tatum, and Ice Cube are in talks to join the action comedy currently titled 24 Jump Street.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller, who directed the first two movies, will remain as executive producers while Rodney Rothman (who co-wrote 22 Jump Street and co-wrote/directed Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse) will direct.

The fact that this third film is going with the title 24 Jump Street, as opposed to 23 Jump Street, will likely be just part of the humor native to the very meta comedy franchise. In the 22 Jump Street credits (which fast-forwarded through literally over a dozen potential sequel ideas), 24 Jump Street was then pitched as “Foreign Exchange Students.” Maybe one day, there will be enough real movies in the series for it to join the Consequence ranking of the best action movie franchises ever.
