Having just played herself in the A24 comedy The Moment, Charli XCX’s big screen journey continues with Erupcja, a new “anti-romantic comedy” directed by Pete Ohs and co-starring Lena Góra, Will Madden, and Jeremy O. Harris. The movie, which debuted at TIFF 2025, marks Charli XCX’s acting debut.
According to the official description, “a romantic vacation goes awry when a volcanic eruption strands Bethany (Charli XCX) and her soon-to-be fiancé, Rob (Will Madden) in Warsaw, Poland. Bethany takes the explosive event as a sign to ditch her baggage, reunite with childhood friend Nel (Lena Góra) and traipse across lofts, clubs and back alleys, all the while becoming entangled in an emotional web that challenges her sense of self.”
Erupcja arrives in theaters on April 17th, 2026. Check out the new trailer below, as well as Consequence’s Paolo Ragusa’s review of The Moment for more on Charli’s new movie career.
