“Baby Girl” is actually the fourth preview from the mixtape, following “So Sad So Hot”, “YDH”, and “Surprise Surprise”. It was produced with Oscar Görres (Taylor Swift, Troye Sivan) and Caroline Ailin (Dua Lipa). Qisha spelled out the thinking behind it. “Baby Girl is me at the club, thinking to myself: Do I want to be her, or do I want to be with her?” she said. “I wrote the chorus with Oscar and Caroline after talking about comparison and feeling like I never quite fit the mould of a modern pop artist. But when I came back the next day to write the verses, the song took on a completely different meaning. I realised how often admiration and attraction can overlap, and how grey that area is to me. Looking back, there were girls I thought I wanted to be like, but really I just had a huge crush on them. It’s also a song to big up your girls, like we’re all in the thick of comparison… but really we’re all just out here fangirling over each other.” The mixtape is Qisha’s first body of work since her 2025 EP Modern Romance, which followed a self-titled debut EP the year before.
