Chris Stussy Announces Three-Part Debut Album, ‘Lost, Found & Forgotten…’

Chris Stussy fans have been given cause for excitement today. The Dutch DJ and producer has shared that his debut album, Lost, Found & Forgotten…, will arrive by way of his own Up The Stuss imprint on April 3.

As its title suggests, the effort will be split into three chapters. Lost consists of music that Chris Stussy (real name Niels Christian Steenbergen) had written but neglected to release at various times throughout his career, but has now finished for the sake of the album.

Meanwhile, Found focuses heavily on his work with other artists, “sparked by collaboration, digging, and shared creative exchange,” according to a press release. The album closes with Forgotten, a chapter dedicated to “the deeper cuts, the B-sides, and the moments that reward patience.”

Lost, Found & Forgotten was first announced on BBC Radio 1 by renowned host Pete Tong. He offered a first listen of one of the songs on the effort, a club-friendly yet contemplative cut defined by tense atmosphere and warbling synth melodies.

“This album has been a long time in the making, and I’m excited to finally share it with you,” said Steenberger. “The process behind it — exchanging ideas with other artists and creating music outside of my comfort zone — has been an incredible experience. It gave me a true sense of freedom, allowing me to not think about boundaries or expectations.”

He continued: “I’ve never been more proud of a project than this one. It’s deeply personal, and it represents my sound as a whole. I hope you listen with an open mind and find something in it that resonates with you.”
