Democratic Congressman Maxwell Alejandro Frost was assaulted during a “racially charged incident” at a party hosted by CAA at Sundance Film Festival on Friday night, according to Variety.
In a social media post detailing the incident, Frost said the man “told me that Trump was going to deport me before he punched me in the face. He was heard screaming racist remarks as he drunkenly ran off. The individual was arrested and I am okay.”
Variety reports that the assailant, who is white, initially confronted Frost in a bathroom. After assaulting him, he was detained by event security and taken into custody by police.
