Corey Feldman Claims Oscars Didn’t Invite Him to Planned Rob Reiner Tribute with Fellow Stand by Me Co-Stars

The 2026 Oscars will go down this Sunday, and as reported by Variety, there will be a special tribute to the late Rob Reiner and his influential body of work. In particular, When Harry Met Sally co-stars Billy Crystal and Meg Ryan will reunite onstage during the In Memoriam segment. Now, Corey Feldman has taken to Twitter to suggest his fellow Stand by Me cast members Jerry O’Connell and Wil Wheaton will also reunite, but that he had not been invited. Though, to take his word for it, he’s perfectly fine sitting out.

“I just want [to] briefly mention this whole Oscars thing! Yes, it’s true that I was not invited,” Feldman posted. “I understand many believe it’s due [to] being outspoken about the abuse I suffered as a child and the campaign [to] silence me. However, this isn’t about me. It’s not my moment [at] all. It’s about the tragic loss of [our] friend Rob Reiner [and] his memory.”

Feldman, who portrayed Teddy Duchamp in the film, went on to expand upon his feelings, clarifying that he has no ill will towards the Oscars or his fellow Stand by Me cast members when it comes to the matter.

“As much I appreciate all support, it’s very sweet of [you]… but please stop. Please take down any petitions [to] push [for] my presence at the awards,” he continued. “They don’t need me there. Will [and] Jerry got this, I’m sure. They will do a fantastic job… I’ll honor Rob my own way.”

Notably, there has yet to be official confirmation that any of the Stand by Me cast will make an appearance during the ceremony on Sunday. However, Feldman, O’Connell, and Wheaton were all originally scheduled to be in North Carolina that night on their “Stand by Me: The Film and Its Stars 40 Years Later” tour (get tickets here). That specific date has since been canceled, possibly to allow for O’Connell and Wheaton to take part in the tribute.

The 2026 Academy Awards take place on March 16th, 2026, with the ceremony airing live on ABC and Hulu. Conan O’Brien will once against host. Check back in on Sunday for our full coverage. You can also revisit the list of nominations here.
