Corey Feldman joined Alien Ant Farm onstage for the band’s famous cover of Michael Jackson’s “Smooth Criminal” over the weekend, and showed off his best Jacko-inspired moves while duetting with AAF frontman Dryden Mitchell.
The magical concert moment happened during Alien Ant Farm’s gig at the outdoor stage of the Rainbow Bar & Grill in West Hollywood, California. Mitchell introduced Feldman as a “childhood hero” of his as the actor-singer walked onstage wearing a white suit, white hat, and blue shirt straight out Jackson’s music video for “Smooth Criminal.”
Feldman proceeded to bust some moves right from the King of Pop’s playbook before taking lead on the first verse. The former child star proceeded to sing and dance throughout the performance, at one point taking off his suit jacket and revealing his sheer shirt.
Back in the ’80s, when he was starring in such films as The Goonies, Gremlins, The Lost Boys, and Stand By Me, Feldman developed a close friendship with Michael Jackson, and considered him a mentor. The friendship lasted until 2001, at which time they drifted apart, with Feldman maintaining that Jackson never abused him, but admitting there may have been grooming involved in their friendship.
