The Healing Power of Horses announce debut EP Summer Indoors (or outside wearing black)

The pair, who have described their working method as spending “way too much time in the attic making tunes”, will release Summer Indoors (or outside wearing black) on 17 July. The five-track collection follows debut single “i wait, i sink".

Today they’re sharing a second rack “In Yr Right Hand Reveal Heaven” which the band say came together in two distinct halves: "IYRH is music from the castle of heaven, cool and warm. there was a first half written - ground floor tenement glasgow, end of winter - during a riper year of understanding. then the saddest thing ever happened to us and we wrote the second half and glued it together in East Anglian Attic sticky dawn skies big angel. first ☆☆☆ then ♥️♥️♥️..."

The EP’s songs reportedly move through “flashes of paranoia, mercy, and hope”, with arrangements that lurch between brittle rhythms and blown-out textures. The band signed to section1 – the LA based sister label to Partisan Records, home to Blonde Redhead and King Princess – last month.

Following a set at Brighton’s The Great Escape festival, where they played as part of Best Fit's showcase, The Healing Power of Horses hit up buzzy Brixton venue Club Cheek tomorrow night (11 June) for a sold out show supporting RIP Magic presented by our friends at Perfectly Imperfect. They’ve also been confirmed for Pitchfork Paris, running 5-7 November.
