Daniel Romano’s Outfit announce new album, Preservers of the Pearl

1 month ago 14

Preservers of the Pearl sees the Canadian indie band — led by musician, poet, and visual artist Daniel Romano — embrace music as a communal experience. Rather than Romano leading as the sole songwriter, The Outfit took a collaborative approach to the new album, with bandmates Ian Romano, Carson McHone, and newly welcomed Tommy Major involved in the writing process. Lead single “Autopioet” offers the first glimpse into their new collaborative direction.

Recorded live to tape in The Outfit’s own Camera Varda studio, Preservers of the Pearl aims to push against what they describe as “the mono-agriculture of the mind” by bringing together their multiple perspectives. “These ideas didn’t begin with us — and they’re not meant to end here,” the band explains.
