Dave Chappelle “Considering” Chappelle’s Show Revival

Dave Chappelle is considering a return to Chappelle’s Show, the hit sketch comedy series that ran for two full seasons from 2003 to 2006.

“If you’d asked me that question a year ago, I’d have told you absolutely not,” the comedian told AP News. “But in the last few weeks … I’m considering it.” He apparently declined to discuss the matter further.

Chappelle’s Show premiered in 2003, instantly becoming one of the most talked-about programs on Comedy Central. Season 2 aired without a hitch, but after a 2004 standup set was repeatedly interrupted by audience members shouting, “I’m Rick James, bitch,” — a catchphrase from the sketch series — Chappelle told the audience, “The show is ruining my life.” He later retreated to South Africa, and while Season 3 was never finished, three “Lost Episodes” eventually premiered in 2006.
