The band’s move to ANTI- (Fleet Foxes, MJ Lenderman, Waxahatchee) sees them return to their independent beginnings, having released their first four records on Barsuk and their last six on Atlantic, with the most recent being their 2022 release, Asphalt Meadows.
Speaking about the signing, vocalist Ben Gibbard comments: "We are thrilled to be joining the roster at ANTI- which includes some of our favourite artists, old friends and in many cases, both. We also can’t wait to begin this new chapter with the wonderful staff at ANTI- and share with you what we’ve been working on."
Alongside the announcement, Death Cab for Cutie have shared that they are set to embark on a North American summer tour, starting with an appearance at Denver’s Outside Days Festival, before their headline shows kick off with a stop in Minneapolis on 10 July. They will also be joined by Japanese Breakfast, Nation of Language, and Jay Som for select shows.
